Lucky

The Mid West took a shellacking this weekend in the weather department. We were threatened but lucked out in the end, with just a tad of ice and some drenching rains. Miserable, but nothing compared to a blizzard.

We were also lucky in that the boss told the guys over at the auction last week to give him a call if a really cheap stock trailer came in. They did and we got this for way under two thousand. It is really old, but not at all decrepit and will serve us for a bit and keep us out of the hands of the uncaring and unscrupulous among the haulers. I am grateful as heck for that.

We're looking for a new (to us) stock trailer too. This one looks great, now you can breathe easier knowing your hauling and delivering your own stock.

That looks like a good investment not to have to deal with him any longer. It seems weird when people don't even try to be nice to customers.

This one looks really good!!! You would laugh at the one we use...when Terry unloads the sale barn crew always have some sort of comment.

I'm so glad for you. Now you are in charge All The Way!

Color me a bit confused - when you hire people to haul your stock, they use a trailer like that? I'm kinda used to 53' cattle pots pulled by semis, which is why I'm asking. No one around here would really think of charging to help out with a stock trailer like that - they wouldn't know what to charge!

Nita, I hope you find one. This one has some cosmetic issues, but we needed it and it was cheap sp...

Jan, I am the wrong gender for some of them to listen to me...

Linda, not perfect, but it will do I think. Thanks

Linda, that was how it was with our old one. Had it not been through the fire at the neighbor's we probably would have gotten another few years out of it, but the steel was just disintegrating.

Jeffro, around here we are shipping cull dairy cows, usually one at a time, or many a calf or two. Most of the haulers use a trailer like this or a box on the back of a large pickup. They get thirty bucks or so per cow, but they couldn't even get the big ones into a lot of farm yards. Some of them are good guys...but the others make a bad name for them

Ericka, thanks, it is just bitter cold now, with just a bit of snow.

Excellent!! It's so nice having your own trailer and not having to rely on anyone else.
