Psycho Bunny

This is the bird chasing rabbit I wrote about in the Farm Side. The thing is bizarre, racing in circles, over and over again, chasing birds off the long lawn.

You can see that it is huge for a cotton tail, but it isn't a snowshoe, which is the only other rabbit found around here. These pics aren't great because it was real early in the morning when I got them and was still pretty dark.

Psycho bunny sure hates grackles....and loves to take victory laps around the mugho pine, kicking up its heels and shaking its furry ears.

Defending his territory?? I think it is amusing to watch rabbits do their demonstration jumps and chasing about.

Maybe they all act like that when no humans are around to see them...?

I understand rabbits and cats can cross? Maybe?

TC!

I've been away sooo long. We have been crazy busy and when we get to the Cape I'll have time to peruse all the posts I've been missing.

Did I possibly see your comment on a certain website following mine or was it just a coincidence?

We'll give a 'toot' as we head for our Friday over-nite in Albany.

Lisa, actually I think you have the right of it. I think he is after the grackles, which probably love to snatch little bunnies out of nests. He (or probably she)is hilarious though

June, could be. I wouldn't want to get in his way. lol

Anon, well, prolly not, but he is as big as some of our cats. lol

Cathy, I will listen with eager ears for that lovely evidence of reality! I love it when I hear you go by. Have a wonderful time there.
I don't know about the comment....very possibly, but I don't remember just where you mean. Sorry

Tina, we have a whole mess of really big, odd bunnies. Somebody says they can cross with domestic rabbits. I have no idea if that is true...
