Darth Catbird

I was wearing the camera around my neck when I went out to hang up laundry.
I was rewarded by this lovely lady eating oranges.

Suddenly, as I was click, click, clicking, Darth Catbird swooped out of the sky and pounced.
She was gone in a flash.

You and your clothesline live in a bird paradise.

I'd be wearing that camera necklace 24/7 ;)

Cathy, we do! I would give a great deal to have someone with an ear for birds just stand in the yard and listen! There is so much going on out there and I don't have much of an "ear". I have to relearn the handful of calls I know every year, but somebody like the man in the Big Year would probably hear a lot of wonderful stuff. I am at somewhere around thirty counted species, just since real spring (no juncos or winter visitors) just from the house and barn!

LInda, I did not see him at all and did not take that flight photo on purpose. I was shooting the oriole and he just swooped in. Wish it was better focused.
