Losing Small Dairies

Are the days of small dairy farms over for most everyone but the Amish.....the answer is probably.

As for that article about the perishing small dairy farm: I got to that sentence about the owners not watching their cows being led into the ring . .

On a lighter note: Who is that gorgeous cow in the picture? How exceptionally lovely is that cow?

I hope not. I would hate to lose the 100 year old dairy a mile from us. They are wonderful people, and my horse hay suppliers.

Cathy, I am having nightmares, quite literally, about the very real possibility of having to sell our girls. Some of them are like family. I dreamed we sold Asaki and Broadway the other night. Just awful. Things are consistently bad though and not expected to improve. The cows is Becky's Evidence, named after an Emerson Drive song she likes. I took a lot of pics of the song name cows...we have a lot of them...for Sunday Stills. Evie's was handy when I needed a cow pic for this post.

Reddunappy, I hope not too. I hate to see the small farms going, but if not for the Amish there would only be a handful left around here.

Linda, her name is Evidence and she belongs to Becky. She was named after an Emerson Drive song that she likes. I have been taking pics for the Sunday Stills music thing this weekend.

I've been beaten up the last weeks with dreams . .

My heart goes out to you . .
