Sunday Stills....What Inspires Me

Male purple finch, blowin' in the wind

It all does, from the dew drops on the grass, cows on the hillside, dogs in the kitchen...but I guess bird shots are my favorites.

One of the things I've noticed here in Alaska is that we don't seem to have songbirds. I suppose the eagles, hawks, and great horned owls would make quick work of them, but I do miss bird song.

I love all your bird shots. Many of them have helped me put names to birds I see, but can't identify. Thanks

I just checked your blog after sipping coffee on the back porch watching a phoebe catch breakfast, cardinals at the bird bath, jays squawking at a hawk and blue-gray gnatcathers woking the oak tree for snacks. What a coincidence!

Whoa. That purple finch shot. Wow.
And the sunlight on those mergs . . .

Who can resist their charm ?

I spent waaay too much time this weekend trying to get a photo of a white-crowned sparrow that showed up.

Thank you all for your kind words! It was great fun to hunt bird shots all week. I would anyhow, but SS gave a good excuse.
