Frosty

The single-digit nights and relatively warm days we've been seeing make for amazing mornings. The sky is as pink as the inside of a shell and all the twigs and branches are covered with hoarfrost.

The slanting light of the sun as it rises, long after folks are afoot and wandering, lights it all up with crystal rainbows.

I am not a fan of winter much, but there is no denying that it can be as lovely as it is treacherous.

We've had hoarfrost as much as 4" thick; it's lovely, but man is it cold!

The only beauty I see around here is that my camellia bush has a few blooms on the side closest to the house. Otherwise it is just winter.

I am not a fan of winter..only from a window or a photograph. But farm work doesn't allow for life like that!
