RIP Nick

Last of the three border collies who lit up the past decade and three quarters and kept things interesting for me. Why didn't I expect it to hurt so much...goodbye old man.

I am so sorry. I am sitting here with my own aging Border Collie beside me and it is almost too hard to write.

Every loss brings back the pain of the ones before, doesn't it.

Aww.....I'm so sorry for your loss Threecollie. Just remember all the good times with him.

So sorry for your loss but I know you have many good memories of this wonderful dog. It is hard, my caught is about to go through this, she has an old lab that was a baby when her kids were babies, they are early teens now. It is hurting the whole family but especially our grand daughter, she grew up with Tillie and has never known life with out her.

I am sorry--have been there a time or two with dogs & cats. The pawprints are indents on your heart.

May there be another BC in your near future. BTW, I love your blog--even the serious & sad ones.

Well, damn. My condolences, of course.

Oh so sorry. Those of us who have loved a pet know how hard your heart aches and how empty will seem the places you used to see him.

Thank you all for your words of comfort. They mean a lot to me. You would think living on a farm and dealing with birth, life, illness and death every day that you would somehow get used to it. I sure haven't and losing this old guy took me about like a two by four upside the head. It was a good thing it was raining when we were digging his grave.
