Sunday Stills....Birds

Eastern phoebe hunting under our eaves

Branta Canadensis

Hunting a little slough up the valley from us

Silver

Yellow rumped warbler

Always one of my favorite challenges, as I love birding. This was a good week for birds too, although none of these shots is exactly stellar. We are surrounded by fall warblers and a trip up west netted four bald eagles, although only one was easily photographed.

All great choices for the challenge. What is the common name for the birds in your second shot? Nice job. :)

Excellent pics, I adore the peacock profile and the eagle, I still can't find one in the wild to get a pic of..:-)

You know what you're talkin' about! I don't know a whole lot about birds but you sure have taken some special pics.

dibear, thanks, they are Canada geese. We are seeing a lot of them these days.

Ed, thanks. We have a nest of eagles just a couple of miles up the road so we see them almost daily. This one we had to road trip for, but only about ten miles.

Lori, thank you! I love birds...sitting here at the kitchen table right now hearing crows, a Carolina wren and a dozen passing geese....

Tom, we are so fortunate to have the river and a pair nesting right up the road. See them often. Thanks

henry, thanks!
