Birds of Winter

A huge flock of starlings descended on the winesap apple tree yesterday and began devouring apples.
I managed to get a picture of ONE.

They look cold too.

Some of the mourning doves got so puffed up this morning that they reminded me of the Ralphie's little brother in Christmas Story. If they fell over they'd never be able to get on their feet again.

The ringed-neck doves have ran off all the Mourning Doves in our area. I miss them!

Joated, lol, I saw that with a tree sparrow. He was so fluffed I wasn't quite positive what he was and he sure didn't want to fly away so I got a real close look.

Linda, guess they are colonizing the whole country bit by bit. :(
