Chikin

The kids built another new hen coop over the past few days. With Alan laid off for a few weeks things got DONE.

Added to the new brooder,

Lots and lots of new chicks....

It all equals.....eggs! Present and future

I'm just a city girl - so's I gotta ask. Am I seeing eggs in pastel shades? They're lovely :)

Cathy, oh, yes. The various breeds and individuals of birds lay different colored eggs. Americanas, also known as Easter Eggers, lay the green and bluish ones. My favorites! The kids are trying to find some Marans, which lay very, very dark brown eggs.

Linda, boy, when you have them, you use them too! Everyone...except me...eats a lot of eggs around here. Can't beat the fresh ones.
