Wonder where it came from....

Jonna, it is just a couple of feet tall and growing in the shade along the driveway under some box elders. It is nothing I have ever seen before. This looks more like the flower clusters of Smooth Sumac (Rhus glabra). Was this a shrub? If it IS Smooth Sumac, it is a very valuable source of food for birds, so I know you will love it. I also has gorgeous fall color, as all sumacs do.Jacqueline Donnellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13390548854179921303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15171402.post-11179413754958354642017-08-07T09:52:59.053-04:002017-08-07T09:52:59.053-04:00Thanks, Cathy, I am afraid that it might be Poison...Thanks, Cathy, I am afraid that it might be Poison Sumac...threecolliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05811004278088768813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15171402.post-4345519891935451582017-08-07T09:17:42.469-04:002017-08-07T09:17:42.469-04:00Marianne, I put Jonna on an ID quest yesterday wit...Marianne, I put Jonna on an ID quest yesterday with a plant I'd not seen before. She does plant monitoring in the local nature preserves with experts and she said she'll ask them. I'l bet she'll know this plant but she can ask around if she doesn't :)Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00548755592157386484noreply@blogger.com
