The Other New York

Where the apples grow on trees and the only thing scraping the sky is the mountains.

Do people STILL think that Manhattan IS New York State?
Gahhhhh!

Beautiful photos AND sentiment. The folks in NYC and their reps in Albany still do not get it. If it's not The City or the Adirondacks (which they know only from reading about as a wilderness "forever wild"--conveniently forgetting the many small towns and villages contained therein and the folks who live there) then it doesn't exist to them.

Beautiful! Thank you for the reminder that New York City/Manhattan et al aren't the whole state.

Beautiful! People think the same thing when you say Washington State...You mean Seattle? It is a WHOLE different place in Eastern Wa!

Such beautiful country. California is not all L.A. either.

June, they do, as our son has discovered as he works in various locations around the country. Sad, isn't it?

Joated, I was staggered and moved by the sheer beauty of the landscape, despite having lived here all my life.

Rev. Paul, they aren't even the best part....

OW, motor-driven sickle-bar hay mower. Just a young boy running it....kinda dangerous to me, but they do that sort of thing all the time.

CDH, I don't get cities. I mean, I am utterly puzzled what reward there could possibly be for living in them.

Jan, it was a gorgeous day!

Cathy, thanks, such a lovely day. Wish I could have taken more.
