I Thought it was Morning

Well, actually it was morning, but I thought I had overslept...a lot...when I got up today. The moon was that bright.

When I took wee Miss Daisy the Doodlebop  out to wee just before sunup, the sky was thronged with odd fish-bone clouds, sharp claws curved in strange circles, with puffs of fin dangling below. Just like the skeletons of monster sun fish swimming toward an unknown planet, low on the morning horizon today.

And about those planets, have you seen Venus this month? She shines each night as we head to the barn for chores, right between the legs of the hay elevator. Bright as if someone was out there spotlighting deer.

Speaking of deer, despite being hunted over worse than I have seen in years this fall...and not getting a deer ourselves, probably due to constant day in and day out pressure from trespassers.... there were 15 deer in the 60 acre lot woods day before yesterday. That is a big herd for this late in the year this far north.

Then yesterday, while the boss was cutting wood he heard an incredible fusillade of shooting on a nearby plot of land. Boom, boom, boom, boom, and on and on. And then someone yelled, "We finished 'em off!"

Can't know for sure what that was all about, but we can certainly guess. Ah, but maybe it wasn't what he thought and they will be back again today.

No moon here, but low clouds & blowing snow; plenty bright, just the same.

The moon was very bright here in florida last night. My husband commented about how big and bright it looked.

UGH!!! I HATE HUNTING SEASON...just for the reason you have stated! Here they are hunting the Canada Goose...but not on our place. We are posted and if we catch them...well you know the drill!

Rev. Paul, the moon has been amazing the past few months. Just ridiculously bright!

Ellie, as I said to Rev. Paul, very noticeable!

Linda, there still seem to be a lot of deer around so maybe they didn't get them like he though. Sure a wild west kind of shooting gallery though
