To a man who tells you at 10:45 on Friday morning that he has an appointment to talk to a crop insurance rep at 3 PM?
In your kitchen?
On a day when it finally looked as if you were going to get some time (in between filling prescriptions and buying groceries) to visit your parents?
For the first time in a month?
When he knew about it since Monday?
When you live on a farm with three full time students, who own at least five pairs of always-muddy boots, (which are always left in that same kitchen, mud and all), along with three indoor dogs, piles of barn clothes and all the assorted untidiness that goes with busy people who make a living doing a very dirty demanding job? When the kitchen door is where they come in from the barn, the fields and the campus (our campus has cows too.)
Perhaps the question should rather be, what do you DO to a man who does that!
***I know what I wanna do, but I don't think it's legal....time to go mop the kitchen floor.
I think I would give him a big hug. He loves his home, his family, and his way of life. He sees no problem in extending an invitation to someone to come into it.
ReplyDeleteWhat DID you do to him? Dakota says make him mop the floor.
ReplyDeleteOnce when the moms went on a home visit for Legacy Boxer Rescue, a lady answered the door in a skimpy nightie. She had no idea we were coming, and her husband had gone to Walmart. And she had a house full of house-guests in pajamas watching TV.
We've often wondered what she did to him after we left...
Uh oh...
ReplyDeleteJan, lol, I let him swing in the breeze a while before I forgave him, especially since the guy showed up and hour and a half early while I was still mopping.
ReplyDeleteCubby, he DID sweep a bit.
FC, well, it turned out for the best since the floor was so clean that I finished painting it which I have been working on since camp this summer.
