I feel lucky

And pampered. My cow, Frieland Profit Eland, an elderly lady of ten summers, is expecting a calf by Citation R Maple sometime during the next few days. And last night Liz got up TWICE with her and the boss checked her for me this morning, so I didn't have to go out to the barn in the middle of the freezing night at all. BIG thanks to both of them. No baby yet, but keep your fingers crossed......

Citation R Maple? Isn't that the bull from waaaaaaay back? If so, I can understand your excitement. Good luck.

  3. Hi NW, Yeah, Citation R was big in the sixties and seventies. I already have one daughter, once of the nicest cows I have ever had...and I am greedy for another.

Thanks mrs. m, we do get creative sometimes with the names. I even had one named Broccoli once, but she died.

  5. Thanks wil. I love Citation R Maple. The boss had a daughter of him when I met him and she was an unbelievably nice cow. We had a chance to get some semen a couple of years ago and I got one calf, now a young milk cow. I like her real well. I am really crossing my fingers on this new one, partly for a heifer and most importantly for getting the old cow through another calving.

  7. Nary a whisker. I think she is enjoying the attention.
