This one did win
Although I think the kids came in fifth with that best three females group below this baby, showing as a senior heifer calf, won her class against stiff competition. She is not spectacular in the rear "wheels" and could stand to be a little longer and stronger over the topline, but I have liked her since day one. Blink is a daughter of the Select Sires young sire, Chilton, out of a Comestar Leader cow Alan used to show, Brink.
Congratulations! I don't know what makes a good cow, but she looks purty to me.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She's very handsome.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy, she really only falls into the sort of okay category, but I was delighted that she did well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie
And Rosie!
Congratulations to all of you!! Nice job showing!! I'd toss the cows for the guys's shirts being untucked!! (They don't let me judge!!) Yes, you have good reason to be proud... of your family and farm!!
ReplyDeleteWell done!!
Patrick
Partick, thanks for the kind words, gotta have mercy on both those fellas. They are ring side draftees who were dragged into handling halters in the group class because two members of our family (who will be recognized by their absence in the picture) did not show up to hold halters. The tall, handsome, young man on the end who looks like Ralph is the kids' brother who has never shown a cow before. We were THRILLED to get him on a halter and hope to do so again in the future. The other guy is a nice young man who shows color breeds and was done hours before and had changed.
ReplyDeleteI love cows. Like Stacy, I don't know much about what makes a 'good' cow, but she is be - moooo - ti -ful.
