After a whole week of frantic housecleaning and barn cleaning and running around doing errands it is finally Sunday morning. My morning off, the one milking all week wherein I don't..milk that is. I still need to mop the kitchen floor (no point in doing it until the last minute as we have no mud room, but we do have mud -and worse-tracked in continuously). So I am spending my lovely, sweet, peaceful morning off skipping around reading all your blogs, which I have missed all week (it is good to catch up) and listening to shotguns going off. Again. Today they started half an hour before daylight. Weird and disturbing, but I am not going to let it intrude on my peace.
I hope your morning is peaceful as well.
Guess you haven't found out who's doing all the shooting or why? Strange... I hate hunting season. I don't begrudge the hunters their right to hunt or their venison, I just hate the ones who use it as an excuse to party and shoot at anything that moves. We always have "hunters" injured and/or killed during hunting season here.
ReplyDeleteso sorry about the hunters, hope your animals are safe!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a nice morning. I made a big pot of bean soup to use up the last of the ham and we had lunch with my mom and her husband. Hope those hunters/target shooters gain some consideration, but that's probably asking for a lot.
ReplyDeletecaroline, thanks for stopping by! We are beginning to think that it may be a target range across the river that is just seeing some heavy use.
ReplyDeleteMML, they all seem all right, although they sure don't like the shooting. Alan's dog was trembling so hard his crate was jingling and I was afraid to let him outside to go potty because I was afraid he would run away.
Stacy, it was a wonderful morning and we had a really nice day with family members visiting...thanks
I did some house cleaning this weekend also but didn't do any mopping! Happy New Year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a break!
ReplyDeleteWe've been behind, too. It's good to catch up with you!
ReplyDeleteMOn@rch..glad I wasn't the only one. One of my big dreams for the future is to turn our open to the weather, cold and full of cats, back room into a nice warm mud room where all the boots and barn coats can live...forever. lol Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteFC, it was just wonderful, thanks
Cubby, good to see you, Happy New Year!
Man I have been doing all the house cleaning here with the wife down from surgery. She keeps trying to help but I keep telling here to lay off until she gets a bit better. You might be right about that shooting range though, No hunter is supposed to be shooting until just after daylight.
ReplyDeleteTim, I hope she comes along well! They are now shooting at night too. It is a puzzler, but in such a small town as we live in, I am sure we will soon hear what the heck is going on.
