Another one to gitcha mad

5-year old mistakenly put on bus and dumped in the middle of NYC. Talk about egregious! It is lucky a decent person was the first individual he approached so he made it home all right.

  2. If the driver did in fact order the child off of the bus at the end of the route they should be held accountable - as in arrested. I can't believe anyone would knowingly do that to a child but I guess it does happen.

I hope this bus had a video camera with audio. It's situations like this that make me wish my bus was equipped with a camera, for my protection. Did the boy get on the bus just because he wanted to know what it was like to ride the bus? Or did he think it would be OK to go home with a friend? (That has happened to me, but I know my kids and sent the would be stow-away to their own bus) Was it the regular driver or a sub that wouldn't have known the kids by sight? If he lived across from the school why wasn't the mother there to get him? I suspect that there is more to the story.

Today I had a little one (7) that wasn't sure if she was supposed to go home with me or on another bus to her grandmothers. I took her and of course there was nobody there to meet the bus. I sat there until somebody finally came to the window. Had she lived on a busier street I would have kept her with me while the dispatcher made phone calls.

  3. Beck, not the worst idea you ever had

Apple, you have a unique and clear perspective on this given that you drive a bus. I wonder if we will get to know the details of what happened....thanks for your insight on it.
