I only live about a half mile from the Gulf of Mexico and spring and fall migrations are some of the best times in our yard. The birds will often stop and rest at our pond or fuel up at the feeders. I look at these little ones and think they'll leave my yard and fly up to 24 hours across open waters without a break. An amazing feat! I'm glad I get to enjoy their company before they head off.
Hey! Good column. Like Jan, it's nice that I get to read it even though I am way out here by Rochester. I like your pictures too, where did you take the top one? That building looks familiar. XOXO Joce

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing - great article as usual.
ReplyDeleteGreat column. I'm glad we can read it even though we're out of the circulation area.

Dani, you are incredibly lucky to live at the staging or falling out area. You must see the most incredible birds! Awesome! Thanks for telling me...
ReplyDeleteNita, Thanks for taking time to read it!
Jan, thanks, I was so glad when the paper started running at least a partially free site.
Joce, thank you too. The pictures of the maple leaves are at the old Montgomery County Court house in Fonda.
