wow. most expensive fire wood EVER. our birds did fine with sticks, from the outside even. sometimes they had bugs on them, and that was a special treat to our little omnivores.
about the bird perch....my neighbor (who shall remain anonymous) bought a stick perch thing for her bird...but it was the wrong size...too short..she returned it and i think this process went on for a few trips...and they weren't "close by" trips either...(to the Mall)...and i kept thinking to myself....why don't you just break off a piece of branch..and be done, if it's still the wrong size..try again, it's so FREEE!....proves that some people have more money than brains!..ugh!
Jeffro, it was so funny! I wouldn't have seen it if Alan hadn't pointed it out to me...you should have seen the WalMart employee glaring at me as I snapped those very hurried pics. I didn't want to get thrown out of the place but////
Lisa....hmmmm.....someone's pond fountain I think. lol
Steve, amazing what people will pay for....it is pretty sad.
Linda, we have two this summer and they are already quite tame. It amazes me every summer how very quickly they become accustomed to our activities around the garden pond.
Jan, I had to look it up. they have rudimentary teeth in the back of their mouth. Nothing to bite with though/.
Scott, I like your thinking! Of course, we have our own little stick factory here...I just never had a clue about their monetary potential! I have burned enough "bird perches" to pay back all the stimulus funds, bail out GM and Chrysler and buy several small tropical islands...just this winter alone. If only I had known...
The Wife, boggled my mind for sure. As I said, wrong line of work here...lol And thanks for the kind words
Ericka, as I said to my cousin Scott, I have burned so much potential money in the stove this winter. Who knew how rich we were!
Anon, that is just scary! Whatever happened to human ingenuity and common sense?
Ed, yeah, I love camp week when if we forget something we have to improvise. It is FUN! And thanks for the kind words.
Linda, if it weren't for not wanting to bore everybody I swear I would put up frog pictures every day. I just love the way they sit, always posing, and look so very smug and self satisfied. lol
Please, please, please, pretty please with the cherry on the top: Can you go back to take a look if there is "Made in China" on the label of the bird perch?
Re: the stick - LMAO - yannow, ya get kinda jaded and think that maybe, just maybe, you've seen it all. Then your are proven wrong. Heh.
ReplyDeletewonder were that last picture came from!?
ReplyDeleteThat's right. A bird perch is $4, a stick is free. So it must be a bird perch.
ReplyDeleteI love the frog, he looked like he was smiling!

Uh...do frogs really have teeth? Or is this one who had just had expensive dental implants?
ReplyDeleteWait till the sticks go on sale! They'll probably go down to $3-something apiece. Also, buy in bulk - buy a case of sticks - and save some that way.
ReplyDeleteThat is pure gold. Thanks for sharing it.
Scott.
ROTFL!! You know some poor city person had to buy a stick for their bird. I'm sure it's a "special" stick. And I love the 1st frog pic!

That frog looks like he's smiling. Bird perches at that price are for those without much common sense:)
