Milk Protest in Iowa

Here is another interesting article on current milk prices. It is worth reading all the way to the end....some real food for thought about the cooperative system and how it is affecting farm prices today.

  1. It just makes sense to go back to cutting out the middle man, I would be very happy to do what my mom and dad did when I was a kid, we took our milk jugs, (galvenized ones with the lids) to the dairy farmer down the road, filled our jugs and put the cash in the jar in the office and went home and had dinner.... simple...I have had no ill effects at anytime in my life from drinking milk right from the cow....

  2. Terry's dad and grandfather had the only dairy in Delta, everytday they delivered milk, picked up the dirty bottles brought them home washed them, filled them again, etc.

I could go back to that. I would buy from you right now, if I could.

  3. Maybe this will finally get us dairy farmers to stand together. I would like to read the bill but have yet been able to find a copy.

  4. WW, we did the same thing. Never hurt us a bit! I did go to several teen dances smelling of cow barn when we forgot to get milk until I was dressed and ready to go...but...it was good, clean, healthy milk and nobody but the farmer made the money.

Linda, thank you. Those are kind words indeed. We strive to produce clean milk..

Sara, same here. There are some problems with it I guess that will need a bit of tailoring, but it is at least worth thinking about. It sure is the talk of the town. It comes up at every meeting I go to.
