  4. That sky is so sweet it hurts my teeth! My God, that's breathtaking.

Teeny baby calf is brand new outta the box, isn't it? How come it isn't cuddled up to mama?

Looks like a long long burdened walk for the Campus Crew...

Your "Cold" and "Cool" really captured the feeling!

  5. msw, thank you, it was actually sunrise yesterday morning. It only lasted about ten minutes, but it was incredible

Colleen, thanks, frost on the punkins...and on the weeds too. lol

    Sara, thanks very much

June, it is brand new...or was. That is an old pic from the archives. Lemmie, the mama cow has had several other calves. That one is in front of its mother and she is licking it off just after birth. That is what they do when they have a new baby; they lick it very vigorously until it is more or less dry and the circulation is stimulated and its lungs are working well. During that time, the baby will hopefully stand up, and walk around to the other end for its first drink. Only very rarely do they lie down close to the mother, probably because of the danger of being stepped on. Cows are large and not particularly careful where they put their feet.
They are indoors I believe because that baby was born in the harsh weather.
