Red Tailed Hawk
The boss called my attention to this visitor. He was being mobbed by a couple of crows and landed quite near the house, so I grabbed a couple of pics through the window.
Lisa, pure serendipity...and thanks to Ralph who saw it and tlkd me...thanks!
Dani, they nest near here and I enjoy them so much
Teri, thanks, I know hawks will eat them...but here we have so many other predators, the hawks are but a minor threat. The fisher on the other hand. lol
Sara, thanks, I don't mind the red tailed hawks. they don't seem to bother much of anything except wild rabbits (which are Hell on the garden) and pigeons. It is hilarious to see them trying to get pigeons from under the eaves of the barn. They are far too large to be very maneuverable
LInda, I hope you get a pic! We see them now and then but rarely very close. Thanks
You did a great job. Nice pictures! You were able to be in the right place at the right time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wing span!! So gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGREAT photos! (Watch your chickens!)
ReplyDeleteWe have entirely to many here. And they are HUGE.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures though :) They are a much nicer bird when they are somewhere else.
You can see his eyes, you did such a good job. The top one looks like he is looking right at you.
ReplyDeleteWe have a bald eagle landing in the fields eating afterbirth...now if I can just catch him on camera....
