Life on a family farm in the wilds of Upstate New York

Wow! That arrangement has some serious visual "pop!" The addition of the colored glass really brought out the natural colors of the fruit, and placing the banana in the old Mason jar highlighted it.
The broken green glass - what was it originally?
This is why you are such an artist with a camera - I'd have never thought of combining the elements you did for a photo. Impressive, I say!
Jeffro, wow, thanks so much! I enjoy playing around like that when I can find the time. I don't know what the glass is...I think it is two separate things. I found it out in the yard. I love bits of colored glass and deeply colored old bottles and the like and I save all that I find. I would love to know what the little handle thingy is.
Now I call that creative! Super job, and well done. :)
Very cool, I like that you got the blue rooster into the shot..:-)
Nice! Love the little glass rooster!
Really colorful...something I need these days!
I'll bet the green glass thing is part of an old electric insulator.
PS...I bet you thought about putting an apple or two into that jar, didn't you?
Nicely done (love the blue rooster for contrast) and sure a welcome change to see some color after looking at your posts of all the snow you got! Man, did it snow! Haven't seen a snowfall like that in recent years here; probably in 10 years. That's a lovely colorful calf too, glad it is ok after the breech birth.
Very nice....all I could find is one lousy apple and a wizened up orange. I love the rooster!
very cool shots! Love seeing your little rooster again.
Great!
I like the naner in the jar. hehe!

Wonderful colors...the blue glass chicken sets off all the colors. Well done challenge!
Ahhhh...a banana jar!
Great sill life arrangement.
Very nice still life - looks like something I would like to paint. Love the blue rooster.
great still life..I also love your blue rooster..:)
now that was thinking outside the box! very creative!
lovely colors, indeed. Makes me hungry. Canned bananas?
Dibear, thanks so much
Ed, thanks, he is quite a pet
FW, thanks, he is a gift from my mom and lives on the kitchen window sill
June, thanks, I think you are right about the bigger piece. I have always thought that that is probably what it is...the little piece I wonder about, haven't come up with any guesses yet.
Shirley, thanks! This snow business has sure been depressing. One week we have robins and the birds are singing and next week, wham,it's back to winter full force. Not liking it much
Linda, thanks...and what you did with that one lousy apple was pure genius..incredible!
Colleen, thanks, I couldn't resist adding some elements, since anything resembling fruit is in pretty short supply around here this time of year
Laughing Orca, thanks, this was a puzzle due to the season so....
gttyup, thanks, I had to dig out the last of the wizened up apples..not much fruit here just now.
Lori, call it desperation. Any fruit in season that shows up here is generally eaten long before the camera can catch it. lol
OE, thanks for visiting and thanks for your very kind words!
the egggather, thank you! I didn't know that you painted...do you have pics of your pics? I will have to come looking..
Far Side, thanks, I love blue glass and he is especially dear because my mom gave him to me
Brenda, thanks, it isn't fruit time here so I had to make do with a pretty short supply
Joated, thanks, canned bananas sound nasty don't they? But I love that old jar. It belonged to my late mother in law and it seems to set off whatever I put in it, whether it is rooting geraniums or spring daffodils.
Very cool! Love the banana.
