For selling a goldfish to an underage piscesophile. You read it right. A 66-year old great grandmother sold a goldfish to a 14-year old, breaking highly enlightened and commonsensical British animal welfare law, which requires that someone attain the far more astute age of 16 to purchase a fish.
What has the world come to?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be surprised but I'm really not. There is so much of this going on even in our country that we just don't hear about. It's incredibly ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteWE should be concerned....I think most people are. Everyone feels like everything they do is being scrutinized. You never know who's watching. SCARY ~
Thank God for England!!
ReplyDeleteAnimal laws way stupider than California has.
I guess we are not the only country in need of a revolution against stupidity in government.
ReplyDeleteIf you made it up - nobody would believe you!
ReplyDeleteLisa, nothing good, that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteDeb, it is just nuts. I used to feel lucky to have been born when I was...great technology, huge medical advances, amazing freedoms. Now watching the world decline into chaos and idiocy I am not so sure.
Jan, it boggles my mind. I read about what is going on over there and I fear for anything resembling common sense and liberty
Joated, stupid and downright evil. What kind of people could enforce such laws? Never mind the writing of them. We know what politicians are. But who could sleep at night after carrying out such an insane activity? I hate to think
Dickiebo, I had a hard time convincing the family that it was true even though I didn't make it up.
I am tempted to use a 3-letter texting acronymn that starts with a W and ends with an F, but I'm much too proper to do that ...
ReplyDeletecrazy.
I think this perfectly highlights what's happening in our world: Because so many ridiculous laws have been passed, everyone will be a criminal, allowing the government to prosecute whomever they feel like.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.
ReplyDeleteFC, I am quite familiar with that particular acronym and agree heartily. It IS crazy!
ReplyDeleteAkagaga, I don't know if you read Dickiebo, but he posts stories like this all the time. Looks like it is becoming the norm in GB. Scary stuff!
Deb Pierce, yeah, exactly!
