Sunday Stills...a Day in the Life

My work hat, from Allied Federated Cooperatives, the company to which we used to sell milk. Back in those days things were sweet. Plus pocket stuff...Swiss army knife and shepherd's whistle. Books....the best of things. Liz 'n' Jack. Bayberry

  1. Love the photos - they tell a short story about you....it's great how that works :)
I wish those "sweet" days would come back for the American Farmers but I'm not going to hold my breath :(

    Enjoy your sunday -

  4. What is Jack for?
Do you use the whistle. I used to but got tired of always having to remember to put it in my pocket or around my neck on a string.

  12. The second picture had me zooming in as fast as I could to see just what that was! The books looked like a room beyond the dark cabinet, and it took me a couple of seconds to figure out what I was looking at.
    Very neat picture.

  14. Deb, thanks, this was kind of a fun project. It was hard to pick only four from the bunch I took. lol

Ed, thanks,Jack is just a little guy. Liz is 5'5"

Dani, teetering all over the house. lol, thanks

JB, Jack is a walking, whinnying, hay burning decoration. He is just so there is a horse around. When my first horse died at well over thirty years of age I bought him to fill the empty place.
I do use the whistle all the time for all kinds of tasks from calling dogs to calling cows to hollering for help from folks that can't otherwise hear me.

FC, thanks, it was an otherwise gloomy day and I was having a hard time getting even acceptable photos, let alone decent ones, and I happened to glance up on my way in for breakfast and there it was.

    Colleen, thanks, my favorite too

    Beth, thank you

    allhorsestuff, thank, you are right

Lisa, thank you, hope you are feeling better today!

FarSide, thanks, the whistle is the best thing ever! I bought one when I first got border collies...took a while to learn to use it, but it gave me an ability I had envied all my life. I can now whistle loud as all those folks who can let out a shrill scream between their teeth, something I could never do. folks who have highly trained dogs can direct them in delicate herding operations from an incredible difference. I never got much past whistling come bye and away to me, and mostly just call the dogs with mine, but I sure hate to be without it. If you want one you can buy them for a couple of bucks from a lot of herding places

Tom, thanks, that is my favorite too and the last one, of old Bayberry catches her personality. She is a nosy, bossy old girl

June, taken from right here at the desk, one of those lucky moments that just happen. There is a big pile of books on the chair next to the bookcase, next to my desk and a mirror on the other side of the room behind the mantel. Add some sunlight reflecting and and there it was..

gtyup, thanks, I am not fond of box elder trees but this time of year the left over samaras make perfect sun catchers. lol

  16. A good look into your day. I need to get a whistle and learn to use it on my girls. The last photo brings memories of the dairy barn I hung around as a kid, and the sweet aroma of cows.

  17. Linda, yeah, the handle tab is broken off all of mine, but they still work. I used to use it to call the kids when we lived down in town. Embarrassing, but the playground was right across the street and they sure couldn't complain that they didn't hear me. lol

Shirley, thanks, I wouldn't be without one.
