The Cows are Going Out
To grass now. A few of them have been going out since the weather allowed, but now all but a few heifers who will be phased into the group will be outdoors every day. The pics above were taken in the pasture when we were finishing up the fence.
That patures looking good! It's a family tradition we all love to take the cows out for the first time. They are so happy that even the biggest uddered cows kick up their heels and RUN! I love it!
A couple of nearby dairy farms have been letting their cows into the pasture since last Monday. I swear you can see them smile--when they take the time to lift thier heads from all that lush, green grass!
Jessika, it is always fun when they first go out, although this year they ran less than most because we put them out in increments of a few more each day rather than the whole kaboodle. It was nice to see them grazing as I looked out my kitchen window.

ReplyDeleteJoated, ours are liking it too!
That is so lovely it almost makes me wish I were a cow :0)
ReplyDeleteCathy, they fell into their summer routine very happily. Now we just have to get more fences done.
