It has rained
It is raining. It will rain...and rain and rain and rain. Or so it seems. Work on everything has ground to a halt. No hay, no roofing, no gardening, nothing but chores and house work. Of course there is always plenty of those to do.The tractor pull was canceled so the guys came home and slept off the three AM start to the day before chores.
We have a lawn buck to go with the doe. He came peeking in the window and trotting around the lawn on Saturday. At least a four-point, thick with velvet. I suppose they may have something to do with the absence of tops on the beets in the upper garden...
And I leave you with some baby mockingbirds as I don't have much else to offer. We have all sorts of babies from robins to downy woodpeckers. They are the highlight of the season right now.
I can't imagine how cool it would be to see a deer looking in my window. That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteBaby mockingbirds - so cool! I thought of you yesterday as I was watching a couple of just-fledged chickadees. They were so fluffy that they were twice the size of the adults. One fell off his perch on a wire and tumbled a bit before he used his wings. The adults were busy plucking sunflower seeds from the feeder and feeding the babies on the wire.
ReplyDeleteFred want to see rain we had four feet of water in the hole at the jobsite this am .Prolly a millon or more gallons. the drill was on top so no big deal. Just alot of water and mud.
ReplyDeleteLove ya
Mappy
Great babies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link back the other day.
:)
We were driving home the other day and went over a small bridge. My husband stopped real quick and backed up ... there was a doe standing in the middle of the creek. She was beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSometimes there is just toooooo much. And I doth believe you have had way too much rain!

SC Momma, it is amazing to see them so close. Wish they would eat somewhere besides the garden though. lol
ReplyDeleteNW, I have never seen baby chickadees even when they nested on the porch (they fledged the only day I was away from home in weeks). We have a great crop of other babies this year though and I am enjoying every day of it.
Matt, what do you do with all that water!?!??? Love you too
FC, you are very welcome. That was a great post and it needed to be shared. One of my blog friends linked to my Facebook link so you got a lot of traffic from her I think. People need to read what you wrote
AVA, what a wonderful moment. Deer are so pretty this time of year
Linda, I wish it would stop. It is so hard to do anything when everything is always wet. They have given up on baling and are gearing up to chop...
