Sanford Stud Farm Kitchen
I loved these kitchen items and the rooms themselves. They reminded me so much of camps owned by relatives when I was a kid...the same style of wainscoting and dishes and all.
Oh! I cried and cried when they started demolishing Sanford Farm. Of course, I was a teenage girl, in love with horses and history. Thanks for sharing all the photos and some of the history. XOXO Joce
Cathy, haunting is an excellent description for the atmosphere in the buildings. It is if the horses and folks just went out to work and haven't come back yet.
I am glad I live in 2010 with our modern appliances and internet.
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could of been with you to see it! I think it is so bad that it isn't being used anymore!
ReplyDeleteAnn, ditto!
ReplyDeleteLisa, same here. I think you would have enjoyed it. Thanks for the cookies and squash! Just wonderful
I love how pretty the iron piece is around the sink.
ReplyDeleteOur camp was very rustic...big wood cookstove (had to haul the water in from the creek) and beds. That's it.
ReplyDeleteLove this tour.

Dani, we noticed that too! I love the way older places of the day were so ornate as well as functional
ReplyDeleteLinda, all the great aunts, grandma etc had little camps in the Dacks stocked with just such stuff. lol
REbz, we hated to see it happen too. After going inside I am even more regretful
So much character in those rooms and old equipment. Again. Places like that haunt me with what once was.

ReplyDeleteOh, wow.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good description of the sense of the place.
Very eerie, I'm sure.
