The virtual elimination of Trichinella in pigs from modern farms. Immeasurably important in my book , but you won't hear the animal rights folks talking about that.

Trichinella is one nasty parasite and getting rid of it is a major accomplishment!

FC, thanks. I was amazed to see that it was pretty much eradicated in commercial pork. Used to be it was a nightmare.
