Texting While Driving

B-Dub, smarter than many cell phone owners
and she doesn't even have opposable thumbs

Has GOT to stop.

TWO of the kids' friends have been hit from behind by people texting in the past week alone...both by people going at high speeds. Thankfully, even though one boy was on a motorcycle and was flung a great distance, both are okay, but this is nuts!

How can you drive without keeping your eyes on the road? I can barely look away from the road when I am in the passenger's seat for Pete's sake.

  1. Years ago when I worked for an insurance company, the sales manager and his kid transported a car from point A to point B. When they reached their destination, the sales manager found out the kid had been reading a book while he drove.
    Dad nearly had apoplexy.

  2. It does seem that law enforcement can help stop this. There are many more cars pulled off to the side of the road and stopped now for conversations with others on cell phones. They are a distraction but not moving.

  3. I hate watching people drive and text, read or even put on their make-up.....I have a friend that I chew out regularly for all of the above.

  4. I think cell phones are nice...in an emergency. But other than that they need to be on the seat or in a purse or some place where hands cant reach them! This phone thing is nuts anymore.

  5. Say no more, it should be a felony like drinking while driving.
