Filling the Suet Feeder

  3. Ummm.. I think you need something in those photos to lend a little perspective. Most people don't use fencing for a suet holder or hoist pounds of suet at a time! Obviously the birds approve of your method, but it sure makes my little suet feeder seem stingy.

  4. I make my own "suet" by melting/mixing crisco, peanut butter, and whatever else wanders accross my brain. The birds seem to like it though

  5. Cathy, it was funny, he was buzzing right around me wanting to get a nip. I only hope I was quick enough to get the hairy woodpecker that has been hanging around pounding fence posts.

    Linda, I shoulda done it sooner. It was cold out there. lol

    NW, lol, well actually that is an office desk under the chunk of suet. I have another hunk twice the size of this one, but is it frozen and cryovacced. (Don't know why on earth they cryovacced it, but they did.) If you want some give me a holler and I'll hack you off a chunk

    Ruth, they sure do love peanut butter don't they! I have never tried Crisco but I will keep it in mind.
