When the Going Gets Cold

Mappy in Shadow

The cold go shopping. It was just miserable here yesterday. Atmosphere and temperature both. So Liz took Beck and me shopping for a turkey and everything that goes with it.

It was warm in the store. People were remarkably friendly and smiley and nice.

And it was warm. I have never enjoyed shopping more.

Now there are yams in the oven and celery and onions on the stove and it at least smells warm in here.

Hope you all have a terrific day tomorrow.

PS a certain grumpy someone just came home with an itty bitty electric heater. Maybe I should smile at him.

Should I feel guilty for the fact that I am about to step out the door in sneakers and a t-shirt to buy some last minute T-day items?
Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family, and your critters!

Sending our warmest thoughts out to you for a happy Thanksgiving and not mentioning our predicted high for the day.

FC, if all you are wearing is sneakers and a tee shirt, then you don't need to feel guilty, but I sure hope you can run fast. Maybe the sneakers will help. lol
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well. Bet there will be some fine cookin' at Pure Florida tomorrow

Jan, thank you and the same right back at you except your weather, which if it gets here I will keep. lol

I had to do that several years ago, the weekend after thanksgiving (on what was thankfully a much warmer year), when the blower motor on the furnace went up in smoke (literally) at 11pm on Black Friday. The repair guy was out the next morning, but he couldn't get parts till Monday. It never got as cold as it is this year, but I DID spend Saturday and Sunday out of the house in an attempt to keep warm.....

Ruth, we are learning all the tricks to stave off actual freezing, but I sure did enjoy the actual warmth in the store. lol

Cathy, thank you dear friend. I hope you and Keith have a wonderful holiday as well.

Linda, maybe next week we can do something meaningful about the cold. It is pretty nasty as you know from the furnace wars. lol And thanks!
