Saturday

The bicarb and salt tire.....forlorn and empty

Still nothing big going on, which I guess is good. Worked on 1099s yesterday, no big deal for those who have a clue, which...alas...I don't.

Was interested and appalled to note that in order to send the clearly labeled form to the folks who require them you must send another form so they know what the first form is...to convey it so to speak. These are the same folks who want us to live green and conserve and all that stuff...a form to send a form yeah, that makes a world of sense.

But the frosting on the cake was a mouse in the washer...after washing of course. It was a little deer mouse and the washer made it all fluffy and clean.

And dead. Did I mention dead?

I picked it up with a napkin and threw it out for the cats, which appear to prefer dirty mice, so I had to dispose of it in a better fashion later.

And then I washed everything again...and a second again...just in case.

  2. Guess the clean mouse smelled...funny. LOL

As for the form to send a form...I got nothin' to say. I tried filing our taxes...once. After 15 minutes of reading the directions, I passed that chore back to Terry, who, as a federal bureaucrat, was far more accustomed to the...well, let us call it "stuff"...found in those forms than I. But when we each worked in two states and the kids each had two or three more, even she gave up and passed it on to a CPA used to handling the multitude of forms. I still hate tax time.

  3. Guess "do you have a mouse in your pocket" is a legit question!!! A fluffy mouse indeed! LOL

As to the subject of 1099's, taxes and all the bullcr*p attached to the endless bureaucratic forms . . . why should one have to PAY a "tax specialist" to figure them out??? It sure does cost to be a good citizen & do the right thing!

  4. OK. A while back, I woke in the morning and while the boys were still eating breakfast in the next room, I went into the kitchen to run more water and suds in the soaking sink and then proceeded to 'do the dishes'.

When I lifted a dead mouse out of the suds . . the shriek could be heard for miles.

I don't know what my son did with it, but that mouse lives on in my memory.

  5. so FAR, the only mouse I've seen in the house got munched by a puppy who thought it was a wonderfull snack before I could do anything about it. There have been others, but they didn't make it out of the traps. Or, didn't make it far out of the house before the lye soap they'd chewed on caught up with them. At least they made it out of the house!

I once washed and bleached a full-size rat in with a bag of old curtains - 3 times in a row, because the smell wouldn't go away. He came out bald, and there was a lot of "cat" hair in the lint tray.
