I Hate Waiting

Especially waiting for bad weather. Heaven only knows what this storm will bring...this storm with the stupid name, Nemo, which brings to mind either a silly little fish in an animated movie...fairly benign it would seem....or this guy...who is not so much. If none of us had to travel and the hay guy and the milk truck could get in all right I guess I wouldn't worry about it so much. But Al needs to come home and Liz's job keeps her on the road pretty much all the time.

From yesterday's skies you can see that something is certainly moving in. This morning it is just kind of chilly and grey, but Alan called around six this morning and by the time we got off the phone it was already snowing hard in Brooklyn.

I hope you all have your hatches battened down and lots of wood for the stove and milk in the fridge...and cookies....everyone needs cookies....stay warm and dry....

  1. I don't understand this new thing of naming snow storms....Hurricanes I do understand but snowstorms in Upstate NY? They will run out before the end of the long season.

  2. One hopes that the drama of another big storm, is all that fuels your fears, here it is really getting to Spring and I expect some flowers in a bit.

  3. Y'all stay warm and safe! I know about waiting for storms - very stressful. Hope you don't get as much snow as they are calling for!

  4. Stay safe, folks, and take care.

  5. Susan, strikes me as utterly ridiculous. Guess it gives them something to talk about on Facebook

Earl, still no action on the trees across the river. You know spring is really going to come when the dogwoods pink up, the poplars get a greenish cast and the willow sprouts go golden. Still all brown and black. but soon...

SCMomma, four in the afternoon and still nothing but flurries. Alan was let out of work early and I guess it is nasty down in the city but he pretty much drove right out of it at Catskill....thankfully

Rev. Paul, thank you sir. You take care too!

  6. Captain Nemo was cool. Most of the predicted storms around here should be called "Dud," "Disappointment," "Overrated" or similar.

  7. I'd forgotten about CaptainNemo! That is a bit darker.
Hope you've got cookies. We were out of 'em til a dear friend stopped by.
Thinking of you all. Stay safe.

  9. Jeffro, hear, hear. I guess Massachusetts got nailed, but here, without Facebook and the weatherfolks, we would have just shrugged and said, "Oh, it snowed..." lol

Cathy, fresh-baked peanut butter cookies...that three ingredient recipe that is so easy and so good. lol

Linda, thanks. I think the whole naming thing is idiotic too, although it leaves plenty of leeway for jokes about it.
