A Net of Lightning Across the Sky
Yeah, it's been a while since I have seen anything like last night's storm...or set of storms... So much lightning, it would flare all across the whole sky, and crash down all around us all at once. I watched for a long time...almost got blown off the porch before I came in and watched from the stair landing instead, and it was a bad one. I am hoping and praying that everything works when we get to the barn. It takes a whole mess of electrical equipment to milk and confine cows...unless you are Amish... and a storm like last night's can cost a bundle and cause a real mess. The last one took out the agitator motor, to the tune of $300. Anyhow, I hope all you local folks came through all right. I saw some pics of small tornadoes in a couple of local areas. This morning the air is heavy and humid and pregnant with new storms I'm afraid, so brace yourselves for another round today.
Rev. Paul, I guess I would kind of miss them too, if I lived where there weren't any. I think I would enjoy them a lot more if we didn't depend on so many sensitive electronics and live right on a ridge where it seems to think it's its job to strike. The night was beautiful, but kinda scary. lol
Linda, fine so far, thanks, but getting seriously too wet, which I know you could use.
Cathy, I was safe in the house so that was okay, although it has hit here and taken out our wiring in the past. Becky wanted to go out and shut the horse barn door and I told her no way, no how. The horses were fine and I didn't want her standing up outside in that. It was crazy.

I used to revel in t-storms, back when we had little to lose. Then we moved here, where we've heard thunder only three times in the last 10 years.
I hope all your equipment remains safe, and operational.
I hope you are okay!!

I'm OK with lightning if I'm inside the house or in a car . . . but out in the open - I am terrified. And you had it crashing around you ! Yikes.
