Apologies
For not posting much or having much to say. With Liz away in the middle of spring work, we are just so busy there is barely time to think.
However, while we enjoy 70s and 80s and sun and birds and lovely flowers, it is snowing and in the low 30s out in Iowa, where she is attending a conference. I am in no way jealous even if we were in the barn until almost nine last night.
Then a cow broke the boss's nose..quite badly. Dental x-rays showed it pretty much torn loose from its lower moorings.
What with having some teeth out too, he isn't allowed to do much heavy work for a few days, so it is falling on Becky to do the bale rolling and moving...with what help I can offer...and of course we are out of small squares again and back to feeding big rounds.
So, nothing is wrong, when nothing happens on here. We are just waiting for calm to descend...maybe come October. Sorry about that.
Becky fully expects great rewards later.... The Old Man is going to be getting very up-close and personal with multiple episodes of Doctor Who on BBCAmerica :D BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
ReplyDeleteI hope the Boss gets to feeling better soon and that things get back to "normal" ...whatever that is.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound like much fun, but there will be better days. Eventually. :)
ReplyDeleteBreezey, isn't every day on the farm a great reward in and of itself? lol
ReplyDeleteJoated, he is doing pretty good actually, just not supposed to do heavy work for a few days.
Rev. Paul, at least we have the world's most perfect weather.
I sure hope the Boss heals up quickly! Your hardest job will be keeping him still I'm sure lol
ReplyDeleteI am so very, very sorry about the injury.
ReplyDeleteI know how hard it is to have a spouse hurting seriously and the worry . .
Doggone it!
And Liz away . . .
Hang in there my friend.
Oh, I am so sorry! I just know Ralph is in horrid pain and unable to eat and breathe. My heart goes out to him and to you. I can't even imagine the work load...I wish I could catch a plane and come help. :(

ScMomma, lol, no keeping him down. He has let us feed the hay, but he picked up the stable grates to clean the barn today. Prolly weight 150 pounds. No heavy lifting they said. Guess he didn't listen though.
ReplyDeleteCathy, thanks so much. Her plane got diverted too because of bad weather in Chicago, so she is getting back to Syracuse really late. And then the drive east. Poor kid
Linda, that is so sweet of you. He is really pretty good with it, surprisingly. Just not bothering him too much for which we are very grateful. And of course he is mostly ignoring the no heavy lifting already.
No need to apologize - life happens, no matter how we plan. Hope the boss gets to feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeffro, he is okay I think, just sore...and this morning kind of cranky.
ReplyDeleteHope he's healing up well.
