I'd swear there was a flock just outside the window this morning with two or three Toms gobbling for all they were worth and a couple of hens clucking encouragement. At 5:15 AM.

Worse than the danged cats! Couldn't see them when I got up and peeked outside, however. By then the robins, towhees, phoebes and blue jays had started to chime in and the cats started rattling the door so it was definitely time to get up.

Joated, I get such a kick out of the lore surrounding wild turkeys. They are supposed to be so hard to hunt and so hard to call. Alan used to have all kinds of box calls and mouth calls. Now he just calls em, no hardware, no software, just his own mouth. And they come. Heck I was up on the lawn yesterday and got one calling back to me from down by the road with no equipment, just my voice. Lol, people over-think turkeys I think. Al walked up to one once that was sleeping and touched it...which sent it flying I guess.

Jeffro, my son is mad at me for posting them...he is in Virginia and they are out behind the house. lol

Linda, oops, sorry, I didn't mean to leave you out. It was so cool to look out when I was doing dishes and find them strutting up on the hill.

Gotta love turkeys. What a wonderful, comical, can't-take-your-eyes-off-it bird.

Cathy, somehow I can't resist taking pictures of them even though we see them all the time.
