Sighting In
The four shots near the center are the final ones from the back bench when he was getting the Win Mag sighted in at the range. He doesn't know how many yards it is as he just joined the club a little bit ago. I don't know much about target shooting, having been of the ilk that plinked cans in the back yard with my .22, but it looked pretty decent to me.
That's pretty good shootin' ... don't care what kind of shootin' iron you're usin'. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat Paul said. Looks like he's ready. Now all he needs is for the deer to cooperate and show themselves during the day.
ReplyDeleteSo many questions, but the shot groups are fine. So the rifle and ammunition work well, now how do you carry that bench around and how far and how slow or fast is that fine animal going to be going? That is going to be another great post. Hope the best for all the hunters in New York, has anyone woken the governor up yet?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all will have meat on your table this winter.
ReplyDeleteRev. Paul, he was please. And he keeps us in game....
ReplyDeleteJoated, alas, we have somehow acquired our personal complement of Amish poachers, so deer may be a little harder to find than normal years. However, there are still a few right down here that I see every day. Rather not shoot the big one as she is an old, barren doe, but we shall see. Got lotsa turkeys.
Earl, lol, thanks, I hope I get to make that post. He kept the whole family fed that awful year...I think 2009, when we didn't have money for groceries or to butcher a steer. We ate goose, venison, rabbit, squirrel, turkey, grouse....whatever grows out there and has a hunting season he got it for the pot. So if the Amish haven't shot them all... His friends call him Mr. Head Shot. I hope I haven't jinxed him now.
CDH, we can hope...if the Amish didn't get them all this summer. They are no respecters of game laws and the boss has caught them on our land already. Somebody was out there yesterday, banging away with a big gun...prolly a shotgun from the sounds. Don't know what is open but not deer. Oh, well, as I said above, there is a small herd down here by the house if it comes to that.
