Speaking of Muck

It is never a good idea to bite the hand that feeds you. Or to donate a couple of thou to an organization dedicated to doing away with your best customers.

In this case, Muck Boots employees held a fund raiser for HSUS, then the company bragged about it on their page.

You are probably aware that, despite all the cute puppies and kittens they use in their ads, that organization dedicates most of their funds to pensions for staff, fund raising, and destroying animal agriculture.

They are busy right now in Missouri fighting against a right to farm law.

And who wears their boots?

Farmers.

Epic fail it would seem to me.

Anyhow, I suspect that the uproar resulting from this is going to leave the Yellowtail Fail in the dust. Lots of people drink wine. Wear barn boots? Not so much.

Dairy Carrie covered it well

I am in the market for a new pair of hunting boots and was looking at the Muck Boots at the store. I'll be looking for a different pair now.

You have to wonder who makes these brilliant decisions for successful companies.

Not good, being as Muck Boots are my favorite to wear out to the barn! I guess I will have to rethink my options.

Josted, I could never wear them anyhow, as I have odd feet, but this is certainly food for thought, despite the lame excuse they offered yesterday
'
Jan, yeah, this was a big mistake...even if it was only a mistake.

Lisa, they offered an excuse yesterday but it is pretty hard to believe.

Linda, they did claim that it was all a mistake, and that they gave the money to a local shelter, but the local shelter says that they have received nothing from them so.....

WOW how stupid of them!
It is a terrible org wanting to destroy farmers.

Just so much nuttiness out there. Nothing new under the sun.

It figures their boots are crap now anyway, I can't get 2 months out of them, and had to waterproof the waterproof uppers on the last pair. This just firms my resolve to never give them anymore of my money.

Anon, exactly!

Ruth, looks as if most folks are giving them a pass on this since their disclaimer that it was a mistake. I however, suspect that it was fully intended by whomever did it, but perhaps the company doesn't deserve all the blame....still won't buy the boots though.

Cathy, at least Missouri beat them in the right to farm law thing,

Nita, I'm with you. I can't even get my feet in them, they are so rigid.
