I see people baling stuff down here that would be used for bedding in the north. They have put something out for cattle in the winter that taste good but burns in the stomach, that makes them eat whatever is offered so they will eat the poor hay that is offered. I forget what my son in law told me it is.
Ellie, wow, I had never heard of that. I will look it up for sure! People are funny about hay up here. We have a lot of people come who have no idea what they are looking at or for, but they sure think they do. It's a downside of dealing with the public. However, we simply couldn't keep losing our shirts milking cows. I liked them a lot though.
Linda, it is wonderful when the weather cooperates! We were really glad to get it all in the barn, and it hasn't been awful to have a couple of rainy days to water the gardens and give us a chance to regroup either.
WOW! Beautiful :)

ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellie, that is very kind of you. No matter how much we learn about agriculture there is always more to know.
