The S10 'Blackbird'

Or, how to turn your old red lawn ornament into a traveling birding stealth blind.

Some of the tools involved.....nasty vicious blackberry vines from up behind the lawn.

The original, although she didn't look quite this pristine after a year and a half of trips back and forth to Jersey and another couple of years sitting in the yard.

Nice camo job, but it should have a little more brown worked in. Does that puppy still run after sitting around for a couple of years? If so, looks like you'll be able to sneak up on those birds for some good close-ups. (If not, it will make a good blind out in the field wherever the tractor tows it.)

Joated, we had come to pretty much the same conclusion. Maybe some phragmites.

Jan, I was so tickled when he thought of it. Home birding and hiking has been terribly curtailed by the ticks.

Your ticks sound vicious. What could come in an eat them...not them eating you. A nasty winter would probably do the trick...but one never wants a nasty winter. At least I don't.

Linda, they are horrendous. Sadly winter doesn't really do much to them either. I want to be outdoors, but after my recent experience I am kind of afraid
