Happy New Year from Northview
The last bird I saw yesterday as the year ended, and I believe the first for the New Year as well Or at least there was a White-throated Sparrow sitting in the same bush this morning as the sun came up
And the New Year's Eve moon, putting on a big show to send the year out with a bang
That moon shot is awesome :) Our son helps operate a telescope that orbits it and said that it was so bright and clear last night that he could make out particular areas that he'd rarely seen so clearly from down here on Earth.
Cathy, how cool that he has such an interesting job! I can't imagine what the moon must look like magnified like that. It was downright stunning just with the naked eye. I am ready for it to pass though, in hopes that the weather warms up a bit. Awful cold these days!
Lovely images to start a new year. Have a happy 2018.
