No wonder you are a bird watcher. They are gorgeous. The yellow rumped-warbler has a grey rump. Shouldn't he be renamed?
ReplyDeleteJan, that yellow fanny is just hidden by the wings. I can't tell you how many times I have thought that I found an exciting warbler, only to notice what is known in the trade as a butterbutt....dagnabbit. lol They are pretty in the spring though
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny! I, too, think I have an unusual warbler the first time I spot a butterbutt, then am disappointed. I really shouldn't be. They are beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the Killdeers arrive back on the farm. Your birds are wonderful!
