Sunday Stills...in my Bag

This challenge could be interpreted a lot of ways I guess. There are a lot of bags in our lives, some of them useful and others preceded with the word "old".

I haven't carried a traditional woman's purse in decades. However, a camera bag and a utility bag are a whole 'nother story.

From a pocket "chainsaw" and compass, to a portable phone charger, ponchos, sunblock, tasty little mints, and a good, solid, field guide to the birds...oh, and matches. Can't stand not to have matches in case Jack London's To Build a Fire comes true with me in the cast....I have everything I can think of that will fit in these bags.

Plus camera and spare camera and binoculars, without which I would be blind and unable to communicate in my favorite fashion.

Also: fishing license, tick remover, nail clippers, lens cleaners, spare camera batteries, tiny card shaped knife kinda thing, athletic tape and other first aid stuff....and more, much, much more.

For more Sunday Stills....

  1. Great take on this thought provoking challenge!! You got some nice shots of what is in your bag(s). You are prepared and pack a lot of good stuff!

I also have not used a traditional purse for eons. I fell in love with little wristlets years ago (not the fru fru kind). Large enough to carry a few key essentials, so I can grab and go. It comes with me even if I am heading out to shoot with my big 'ol camera bag in tow.

  2. You ae one well equiped lady! I have friends who have their important papers all bagged up and ready for evacuation, but we are ok so far. You have some handy items there!

  4. Aurora, that sounds like a darned good idea. I carry my keys in my pocket, and, as I have added more and more in caring for my parents' estate they have become quite cumbersome. thanks

Shirley, we have a bug out bag too as it happens, but it has been so long since I updated it that I can't remember what is in it. lol. The state came around and gave them to people if they attended a meeting on being prepared. For myself, I have a horror of being caught in a bad situation in the wild places we go to bird, so I try to have things to make do in my bags. So far the only things I have needed were matches for a lady running a roadside stand who was desperate for a smoke and sports tape for my wonky knee. Here's hoping we never need the rest either.

Far Side, as I said to Shirley, I am grateful not to have needed much of it. lol

  5. You are one prepared lady! Nicely done, I'm glad other people saw the challenge as "bag" not needing to mean a lady's handbag :)

  6. My keys live on an old horse shaped carabiner. I would be lost (better said my keys would be lost) without that carabiner. That freebee from Midwest Horse Fair was a game changer for me. I clip them on my jean belt loops, wristlet handle, camera bag etc. I would never find my keys otherwise ~ ha haa!!
