Welcome to Sprinter

You've heard of golf ball-sized hail?
This is a golf ball-sized golf ball that
mysteriously appeared in our barnyard recently.
I blame the weather

An unpopular Frankenseason, bastard child of ice and thunder, ugly babe of snow and rainbow.

Nobody likes it and it just won't go away.

I'm grateful that we are neither making hay nor planting corn right now, and those who are have my deepest sympathies.

March didn't go out like a lamb
Neither did April
And now look at May
I call foul

I think Ravens pick up golf balls, then drop them in random spots when they discover they aren't edible.
We are still waiting for warm enough weather to plant veggies and put bedding plants out. I have peas coming up, as they like being planted in cold weather, but I am just starting to put my tray of bean seedlings out overnight.
No unusual birds here yet, but lots of swallows, robins, magpies, starlings, Canada geese, ravens, owls, blue heron, ducks, eagles and ospreys. The chickadees are still here and we are starting to get more song sparrows.

Shirley, I never thought of a raven carrying it there, but it makes sense. They attempted a nest on the cross mow elevator in the barn there, although I don't think they ever finished it. Migration is a mess here, some birds early, some late, some still absent. At least I have gotten a couple of tomatoes planted out....
