Life on a family farm in the wilds of Upstate New York

Looks more like a cold March day, not the warm spring April with gentle showers we should be having. The winds never seem to stop. Oh well, next week is suppose to be warmer, and the finches at my feeder are getting their bright yellow feathers for the mating season. I had a hawk swoop down an hour ago to my fence, and all the doves, squirrels, and cardinals went away in a flurry of wings. Mr. Hawk sat there a while hoping someone would come back, but they're too smart for him. Thank God for my bird feeder, brings the country to the city.
That is neat, to see a hawk come so close like that. I haven't seen any finches that have changed colors yet, but I am looking forward to it. I did fill my hummer feeder, although nobody has visited yet.
