Congratulations to the anti-National Animal Identification Program website, NoNAIS.org on attracting nationwide mainstream attention to the grassroots movement against this intrusive and expensive program. (I have had a link in the sidebar to the site for quite a while now.)
NoNAIS, run by Walter Jeffries of Sugar Mountain Farm, has done such an excellent job of getting the word out on the problems inherent in the proposed program that his site was mentioned and linked to by Drovers Alert, a mainstream beef producers newsletter, sent out by the well-known magazine Drovers.
It is impressive for a small farmer to do such a fantastic job of getting his ideas out into the public that he manages to reach so many people within and outside the industry. There are a lot of farmers and ranchers very much opposed to national ID, but not too many of them are able to get their opinions out there.

Cool! Thanks for the heads up.
Hello Walter, thanks for stopping by. I was very impressed to see your site in a place which is much more likely generally to be supportive of government programs no matter how wrong-headed they might be.
Walter has done a great job implementing the news in the fight against NAIS. I thank him profusely. I encourage everyone who eats to find out what NAIS is and how it will affect all who eat. And to call your elected officials in Washington and let them know that your cow/horse/pig/goat/chicken votes. They still think NAIS is about tracking animal disease when it is really a business plan that benefits corporate ag so they can sell on the global level. And my telling the govt where I ride my horse helps that how?
Anon, NAIS is a big issue for us too and we too salute Walter, Sarpy Sam and other bloggers who have worked hard to fight it. I have often written in opposition to it in my newspaper column as well and will continue to do so. Thanks for visiting and taking time to comment!
