I missed it! I missed the anniversary of my first year of blogging. It was yesterday. I was busy taking my son fishing and such. (They weren't biting so we brought home some crayfish for the fish tanks and lots of pretty rocks instead.)
Oh, well, I would like to thank all the people who have stopped by to read and/or comment over the past year. Without you this would all be pointless.

Happy Anniversary! Thanks for a year of great reading.
Happy Anniversary! :)
Congrats on reaching the first anniversary :D
Hey,living beats blogging any day. Catching fish and crawdads with your kid is the right priority.
Happy Anniversary!
Thank you everyone, it has been a lot of fun, mostly because folks like you take a minute to comment every now and then.
and FC, you are just exactly right. The kid deserved a fishing trip after working so hard with his dad all week...and I just love going down to the Schoharie, which when it is not a little trickle is a raging torrent. It turns stones and bricks into amazing treasures.
And we are having a lot of fun watching the crayfish build tunnels in the fish tanks, which are almost fishless for the summer, as we put everything out in the water garden.
Happy blogthday! (I just made that word up, can you tell?)
One year, wow. It certainly went fast and reading your blog really brightens my day. Love the articles about your dogs. Sorry about the bats, I would love to see them at night but here in the city its been around twenty years since I've seen anything in the night sky. That goes for all the night insects also. Growing up all our window screens use to be govered with night insects trying to get to the inside lights and all the street lights had clouds of insects around them. I use to be terrified of them as a youngster, but now I would love to see some moths flying around. I think all the lawn spraying the people do for their perfect lawns have killed all the insects that use to be around. Except for ants of course. Love your pictures of the country side. We live in a beautiful part of the country.
Hello Karen, and thanks....I just read something the other day, sorry to say I don't remember where, that agrees with your assessment of the insect situation. There is a man who goes around counting the bugs on windshields and he has found that there are far ferer than in past years. When it comes to mosquitoes I don't really mind, but pollinators are responsible for much of our food...and I do like to eat. lolt
Belated Blogiversary Wishes!
Thanks Karen, I have met so many nice people (you are one of them of course) that it is worth every tap of the keyboard
