Sundae on the Farm 2006
Alan and I took a few pictures yesterday during the time when he wasn't carrying ice cream and I wasn't playing tour guide. As you can see a good time was had by all.
Nice photos. What is this event? do you have some sort of festival at your farm? How often is this? Looks interesting, and is that produce for sale under the tent canopies?
Sundae on the Farm has been held at one farm or another here in Montgomery County for the past six years. This year it was held over south of Fort Plain. It includes farm tours, opportunities to talk to farmers and ag professionals, draft horse wagon rides and free ice cream. It is intended to promote understanding of agriculture by the general public. The vegetables were for sale at a farmer's market held in conjunction with the event. Next year it will be on the other side of Amsterdam
Oh, I am sorry I missed it! It sounded like great fun, and my kids would have loved to see what goes on at a farm. Well, there's next year, I guess. Do you mind giving a head's up for us next year, if possible?
I will try to remember. I am usually involved at least on the day, as I am on the Farm Bureau board and it is sponsored in large part by them. Maybe we will get to meet then, as I generally end up doing something with the public.....everyone thinks because I write I talk too. lol
